There are many reasons your IT department may decide to delay or avoid a specific Windows Update. Your company may use a legacy or custom application that needs to be tested with each update before applying it company-wide. Microsoft is no longer giving your IT department a choice, instead, according to Scott Dunn of Windows Secret’s, Windows Update has start “altering files on users’ systems without displaying any dialog box to request permission.
