Architel Launches Online Backup Service

Architel today launched its new breakthrough online backup service; one of the industries first remote backup services that seamlessly couple network and disk based backup and recovery to create a complete and fully automated data protection system.
Addressing all four aspects of data protection—data backup, offsite storage, archiving, and data recovery; RoboCopy has succeed at doing what very few online backup services have: giving organizations a simple, set-it-and-forget-it way to guarantee the safety of their data.
“Until now, very few hospitality operators could find an inexpensive service that would automatically and completely protect their data,” said Alexander Muse, CEO of Architel. “Disk-based backup products offer speed and improved reliability, but do nothing for archiving or protecting data from physical harm by getting it offsite. Network-based backup products are terrific for shuttling data offsite, but can’t offer the same performance as disk-based solutions. Now, with RoboCopy, the hospitality industry has all the performance of disk-based backup with all the protection of network-based backup, seamlessly fused together to create an infallible, drop-dead simple service that eliminates data loss or corruption.”
RoboCopy was designed for hotel chains with one or two servers per location, where it is extremely difficult for the IT department to ensure the protection of data. Traditional solutions that require manual intervention or monitoring typically fail because it is difficult for non-IT personnel to manage tapes, properly deal with error conditions, or even remember to start the backup process. Restoring lost data is even more vexing, and often requires IT personnel to travel to the remote hotels to recover the data.
RoboCopy eliminates these problems by putting total control of the remote backup and recovery process in the hands of the centralized IT department. Using nothing more than a Web browser, and with no involvement of remote office staff, the IT department can point and click to indicate what remote servers and data to backup. From then on, backup happens automatically and transparently, without any human intervention. Similarly, restoring data is as simple as pointing to the data and point-in-time version you want to restore. Everything else happens automatically.
